When Sachin Tendulkar matched the Don… That’s the tagline most Indian fans would like to read. (But they do not care that much really; they still love their heroes –with all his flaws and failings. Always the mark of a man whose...

His talent demands it; though his body is increasingly beginning to suggest otherwise. If Bradman played till he was forty, Tendulkar needs to ensure his body holds up before he leaves his number unreachable as did Bradman.

How do you know Sachin’s body is deteriorating? Are you his family doctor?

Nice question! Actually made me smile...
I assume you are a cricket fan. By that same assumption, I think the state of Sachin Tendulkar’s body is not a closely guarded secret and even an average Indian fan or follower will tell you the number of injuries he went through. Certainly a contrast from the Kapil Dev days!
By the amount of cricket he has played in recent months, the only one of the fab four who enjoys picking his series depending on how he feels (or who he has to please like Ambani for the Mumbai Indians) and the time away from the crease that these injuries have taken away from him, it is a fair assumption.

Thanks!

There is no comparison between Sachin Tendulkar and Don Bradman. Sachin got this huge fan following in Australia because of the Don's kind and flattering remarks on him. For me the legend of Sir Don can never ever be matched. Even the great Sobers couldn't do it. Sachin is a superstar but so is Shane Warne and a few other contemporary players.

This is no comparison at all. In fact, the two can never be compared. Bradman played 52 Tests in just 10 grounds in a career spanning 2 decades where as Sachin played 150 Tests in just about the same time plus 417 ODIs. Bradman played on uncovered pitches without much protection while Tendulkar didn't with full protection. This argument can go on for ever.

There is no doubt that Sachin's career is on the decline now. His body is not keeping with the rigors the game demands. He is suffering frequent injuries and his form has long deserted him. I guess he has been secretly given the understanding that he will play till the 2011 ICC World Cup and then retire.

Yes, I think the debate can become endless and the points argued over. But something’s are simply too pristine like the legend himself.
As for Sachin Tendulkar, the speculation continues but I can see how fairly interesting they can be!

Thanks!
